Bucharest by the glass (full day)

Tourists will explore Romania’s largest city, a fascinating mix of history and modernity, under the guidance of a private guide, with lunch included. The day continues with afternoon relaxation at Therme Bucharest, Eastern-Europe largest spa, and ends with dinner and a local wine tasting in a cozy wine bar.

Description of the tour:

Visitors will be picked up in the morning (if staying in the central area) or will rendezvous with the guide in the heart of the city, St. Anton’s Square, in front of the historic Manuc’s Inn (Hanul lui Manuc).

From there, our expert local guide will take them on a walking tour of the picturesque Old Town, stopping at landmarks such as Stavropoleos Monastery, a stunning 18th-century Orthodox monastery renowned for its beautiful church art and peaceful garden, Manuc’s Inn, the oldest operating inn in Bucharest, dating back to 1808, or Carturești Carusel, reputed to be in the top 10 most beautiful bookstores in the world.

Lunch (a three-course menu, beverages not included) will take about 1.5 hours.

After lunch, private transportation will take the group to Therme Bucharest. Situated at the edge of the city, on natural thermal strings, Eastern Europe largest wellness and spa center, will ensure a relaxing afternoon. Therme is also home to Romania’s largest botanical garden with over 800,000 plants, including palm trees, orchids and other unique species. With temperatures within the picturesque giant glass dome kept at a balmy warmth throughout the year, it offers a variety of pools, saunas and water slides alongside wellness and spa treatments.

Tourists will be dropped off at their hotel in the early evening (around 18:30) and have free time until 20:00 PM, when the guide will come meet them and take them to one of Bucharest’s premier wine bars for an evening of wine tasting, snacks and dinner. Our guests will be introduced to Romanian winemaking and the unusual, specific local grapes, by a wine specialist, through a six-wine tasting menu (1 sparkling, 2 whites, 1 rosé and 2 reds), accompanied by a mixed plate mix plate of cheeses, olives, nuts and charcuterie and paired with traditional food.

The combined wine tasting + dinner will last for approximately 2.5 hours. At the end of the evening, guests will have the option to be escorted back to their hotel (on food or by minivan, depending on the distance).
